We regret to inform you that on 6th March 2018, whilst en route from Singapore to Suez, the crew members of our vessel “Maersk Honam” reported a fire onboard.
The vessel is currently positioned around 900 nautical miles southeast of Salalah, Oman. Out of the 27 crew members onboard the vessel, 23 have been safely evacuated, whereas the search and rescue operations for the remaining 4 crew members are on-going.
We are investigating the matter thoroughly in cooperation with all relevant authorities.
The contingency plan for the vessel and the containers onboard will be communicated as soon as more information becomes available.
